A mini review of @strictlypancakes
Being fans of pancakes, we were really quite excited to hear about Strictly Pancakes' opening last week.
So we made our way down this cooling Saturday afternoon for a late lunch, and settled ourselves in a cozy corner of the upper storey. This little cafe opposite PoMo, at 44A Prinsep St, is tucked rather inconspicuously into a row of shophouses. Cozy!
We ordered 2 dishes: the Garlic Buttered Prawns, and the Potato Leeking Cheese.
The prawns are good, even for a non-lover of garlic like myself! It's full of garlic, positively covered in chopped garlic actually, and served with sides of a tomato and rocket salad. As for the potato, leek and cheese dish, it comes with a side of sauteed mushrooms and sour cream. I love the mix! It's heavy and fluffy, and cheesy! The leek and mushrooms lend a very good balance to the richness.We are also sharing a nutella milkshake. Too large to have alone, but you must try this if you are here with friends. Very rich, very hazelnutty, and very sweet! Perfect ending to a meal (although probably not if you ordered the sweet pancakes).
Anyway, y'all need to try this place out. I think we're definitely going to be regulars here from now on! :D
