NYE Countdown party kit! My first ever countdown! - Seb's Bistro at Rochester House

31122010003

I am at the countdown party at Seb's Bistro (Rochester Park). Initially I was worried about the location, the crowd, the food, and everything else. But it's been a delight so far!

Thanks Bigdeal.sg and Rochester House for this awesome deal for a wonderful dinner and countdown party! And I just have to say this again... The foie gras is to die for! Kudos to Sebastian and team for a fantastic night so far! They sure know how to throw a party!

We even received this surprise nice party kit - a very nice touch for the celebrative mood here tonight!

Happy new year 2011 to everyone. It's about 30 minutes to the new year! Where are YOU counting down?

Singsale's failed promise to deliver

Two weeks ago, I ordered something from SingSale.com.sg for my sister and brother in-law. But it never arrived in time for Christmas. So I just sent an email to SingSale to ask them to cancel my order and refund me the full amount. I don't care that they have 'dispatched' it. If you promise it will be here in time for Christmas, then make sure it arrives in time for Christmas. Don't wait till after Christmas to dispatch it.

I bought a bag from them last week. Needless to say, that will be the last transaction with them ever.

I'll stick with BrandsFever next time. Better service, faster deliveries, and always great deals.

Edit:

I filed for returns and have sent the item back. However, there is still no response from them on how I can get my refund.

Found this forum thread about NZsale, another company in NZ with same concept, founded by the same parent company, OZsale. Apparently I'm not the one who's getting little or no response (or useless responses) from their customer service personnel.

Lunch @ Fine Cuts at The Central

13122010

We ordered 2 sets of pork chop, with mushroom soup and lemonade at $15+ (no service charge). The pork chops have been deboned, which was nice.

The soup is blah, but I like the lemonade! It's not too sweet. The pork chops have been grilled well, not too hard, and the black pepper gravy is just right for me. I'm not a fan of black pepper anything, but this gravy has just the right amount of spicyness and not at all starchy (the type you get at food court "Western food" stalls).

Good value and delectably filling for a fancy but not too expensive lunch. :D
