Buy a sandal, help some amputees be employed

I'm wearing the new pair of sandals that I bought from Robin of Doing.gd. They're not just any pair of sandals, but sandals that have interchangeable straps in different styles! They look just like your Teva sandals, but way cooler! And they are made by amputees in Jakarta, Indonesia who had their funding from the Indonesian government cut. Making these sandals gives them an opportunity at being employed, to make a living. So I do implore to each of you reading this: Please pledge to buy a sandal. A mini review of @strictlypancakes

Being fans of pancakes, we were really quite excited to hear about Strictly Pancakes' opening last week.

So we made our way down this cooling Saturday afternoon for a late lunch, and settled ourselves in a cozy corner of the upper storey. This little cafe opposite PoMo, at 44A Prinsep St, is tucked rather inconspicuously into a row of shophouses. Cozy!

We ordered 2 dishes: the Garlic Buttered Prawns, and the Potato Leeking Cheese.

The prawns are good, even for a non-lover of garlic like myself! It's full of garlic, positively covered in chopped garlic actually, and served with sides of a tomato and rocket salad.

As for the potato, leek and cheese dish, it comes with a side of sauteed mushrooms and sour cream. I love the mix! It's heavy and fluffy, and cheesy! The leek and mushrooms lend a very good balance to the richness.

We are also sharing a nutella milkshake. Too large to have alone, but you must try this if you are here with friends. Very rich, very hazelnutty, and very sweet! Perfect ending to a meal (although probably not if you ordered the sweet pancakes).

Anyway, y'all need to try this place out. I think we're definitely going to be regulars here from now on! :D

I love looking at old cathedrals

This is the steeple of the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, at Victoria Street, Singapore. Too bad this is not open to the public. It seems to be undergoing some kind of restoration work, cos I see wooden scaffolding erected around the main building.
